Dread falls

topic posted Thu, July 8, 2004 - 11:20 AM by  Katy
I've been making dreads for a fall and got some purple hair off ebay that ablsolutely will not stay dreaded. I've made many other dreads with different colors and never had any problems. I'm using the boiling method, as I don't have a steamer, yet. It's Super Jumbo Soft & Silky, if that helps. It's the most awesome color and I'm itching to use it! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yup I cant get purple jumbo to stay dreaded either.. I ended up using glue on the tips to keep them twisted.

Silky is a bitch to dread, in any incarnation. Mixing with another color that is not a silky is a really good idea...

        - I got mine $10 cheaper, but the link to the shop is defunct, even though I got it yesterday 0_o
I still haven't had time to put it to the test, but others rave about it :)

You are using a braid sealer to finish off a dread? I would think it would make the end crispy and look chopped off. Would love to see a pic of how it looks doing it that way - and if you have problems with it sticking to the other dreads.

          Love learning new methods!

I still haven't had a chance to pull it out of the box, but I promise to post a link to pix of the results :)

Others claim to make nice, tapered ends with the same contraptions, so I have high hopes!

I'm mainly making double enders, for falls, though.
